Artist's Description

Known as the “Queen of the Water Lilies”, Blooming Victorias are capable of growing nearly 6 feet in diameter. Originally from the Amazon these giant water lilies need warm water to survive. The white flower is indicative of the female stage which when fertilized will sink back into the water and reapear as a red colored male flower. Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, St. Paul, Minnesota.
