Artist's Description

While in Florida we ran into some "birders" who suggested we check out a couple of locations where there were young Burrowing owls. We checked them out and and this is one of the older juveniles we found [other photos to come]. The burrows are roped off and posted to give these small [about the size of a robin] protected owls some living space. These owls like short grassy areas so they tend to nest in parks, ball fields and golf courses.
