Description
This is Saguaro National Park West in Tucson, Arizona. The tall cactus is the Saguaro - and they are in fact the tallest cacti. They can live for over 200 years, and they don't sprout their first arm until they're 70-80 years old. The Saguaro can reach a height of 60 feet, with roots only 6 inches deep, but radiating out as far from the plant as it is tall. Magnificent desert sentinels!
