Description
A male Anna's Hummingbird flashes me as I attempt to photograph him. It is quite a treat to be able to be so close to these exquisite little birds and observe them as they go about their daily business of courting, nesting and feeding in
this open air building.
There are eight local varieties of hummers that are in residence here in the various seasons of the year. I think Southwest Arizona is quite fortunate to have such a diversity of these flying jewels. Most of the United States has only the Ruby Throated Hummingbird but we here in Wisconsin supposedly have two other types as well... but I have never seen them.
